A one-move parser game where your actions will unlock the clues needed to win.

(This game was written in less than two weeks for the 2023 Single-Choice Jam, and is the second game I've ever made with Inform 7. I'm not 100% happy with it and in hindsight there's a lot I'd do differently, but it was a great learning experience and testers have told me they enjoyed it, so I'm glad I pushed through and finished!)

This was a neat game! As a hyper-vigilant person, I felt quite validated--see, if I just notice everything in 5 seconds, I win. Never. Stop. Noticing. 😂

I liked the way the clues built on each other and that last one took some noodling to figure out. A fun experience!

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed!!

Very fun. Reminded me of an IF version of the game Hades where you have to keep dying/restarting to progress.

I had some troubles with this game, but I have troubles with every parser puzzle, so don’t read too much into that.

Most of my problems were with the final word. The clue was only visible from some places, but not other equivalent places (there are no spoiler tags here, I think, so I won’t say exactly what) but I think it should have been visible from more spots.

Nevertheless I persevered, and enjoyed. I liked the allegorical clues a lot, and the writing is good (ambiguity over the final clue aside).

One technical note. If you full-screen before starting to play, the background is black and the text is unreadable. I think that’s because the start screen has no background of its own?

Thank you for playing and commenting! I think I know which clue you mean, and I wasn't entirely happy with it either--if I'd had more time, I would have redone it. And good to know about that background issue, I'll see what I can do to fix it! Glad you enjoyed the game overall. :)

This was a fun game to test. The puzzles are pretty interesting since they ask you to explore the details of the room through restarts. Definitely looking forward to your next titles :-)
